San Diego, CA - June 2nd, 2005
FusionOne, a developer of premium mobile services, today announced it will introduce SeeMeRing, a mobile application developed for QUALCOMM's BREW® solution, at the BREW 2005 Conference being held June 1-3 in San Diego. FusionOne will be demonstrating the service at booth #56 during the three-day conference.
SeeMeRing capitalizes on the media-rich capabilities of BREW devices. Using an optional corresponding web application, users can assign specific rings, pictures and annotations to friends, family and business contacts. Furthermore, SeeMeRing will allow users to create and maintain a network of contacts similar to many popular social networking sites, with a sole focus on the user's mobile phone contacts.
"QUALCOMM is pleased to see FusionOne using the BREW solution to create an exciting new service that enables a more personalized mobile experience for users," said Tom Grieco, senior director of BREW Developer Relations for QUALCOMM Internet Services. "Applications like SeeMeRing have a promising market potential because they cater to users' increased demand for customization options for both their social and professional networks."
"SeeMeRing is a service that joins three very interesting and lucrative markets: social networking services, downloadable ringtones and picture messaging," said Rick Onyon, president and CEO for FusionOne. "With consumers spending millions of dollars each year downloading ringtones, and the proliferation of camera phones continuing to rise, there is a high demand for personalization in the mobile phone space. SeeMeRing capitalizes on these markets and serves as a new and unique business proposition for operators as it focuses on the data that matters most to a user - their valuable mobile phone contacts."
QUALCOMM's BREW solution is designed to meet the distinct and varied needs of wireless operators, handset manufacturers, publishers, developers and end users around the world. BREW products and services include: an open, extensible client platform that supports robust system and application software including personalized and branded user interfaces for mass market devices; a J2EE™-based, modular delivery system that enables the distribution of content, applications and user interfaces to wireless devices across all air interfaces; a dedicated professional services team that supports the integration of customized implementations; and the wireless industry's first global marketplace to support the monetization of applications and services developed in all programming languages. The BREW solution can make the wireless visions of innovative companies a reality.
