Mike Mulica
Chief Executive Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the mobile and telecommunications industry and a flair for creativity and innovation, Mike Mulica has built a reputation of opening global markets for leading software solutions, expanding market share, and building customer value.
Previously, Mike served as President and Chief Executive Officer of BridgePort Networks, a leader in mobile-to-Voice over IP roaming technology. Prior to BridgePort Networks, Mulica was Senior Vice President of Customer Operations for Openwave Systems (previously Phone.com), where he developed a world class sales organization and managed all customer-facing operations. Mike has also served as President of Global Sales and Marketing for Adaptive Broadband and Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Motorola's Wireless Alliance Group.
Mike holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business from Marquette University, and a Graduate Certificate in International Business from the University of Copenhagen.
Shanda Bahles
General Partner, El Dorado Ventures
Shanda Bahles has been an active early-stage investor for more than 14 years. She has served on the boards of 17 technology-based startups and is currently a board member for 6 El Dorado Ventures portfolio companies, including FusionOne, Slam Dunk Networks and Appshop.
Before joining El Dorado Ventures in 1987, she was a co-founder and/or early employee at Infotek, Millennium Systems, Magnuson Computer Systems, and Fortune Systems. She started her career as an engineer focused on building products, then moved into marketing to manage product launches. She received her B.S.E.E. and M.B.A. degrees from Stanford University.
Shanda concentrates on investments in enterprise software and Internet software and services. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including International Business Forum, The Next 20 Years Series and Garage.com's Bootcamp.
John Malloy
BlueRun Ventures
John Malloy has more than 18 years experience working in technology and communications industries. Prior to starting the BlueRun Ventures Fund, John was Vice President of Business Development for Nokia Americas. In that capacity he oversaw Nokia's mergers & acquisition activity in North America. Prior to Nokia, John was a founder of GO Communications, a PCS start-up. Previously, John worked in a variety of capacities at MCI, the last being Marketing Director. John holds a B.A. from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from George Mason University, School of Law.
Perry LaForge
Founder, Chairman & Executive Director, CDMA Development Group
Perry LaForge is the Founder, Executive Director and Chairman of the CDMA Development Group (CDG). The CDG is a trade association comprised of over 110 of the world's leading wireless operators and manufacturers. At the CDG, Perry is responsible for overseeing the expansion of CDMA technology throughout the world and for leading the evolution of the technology through the CDG's subcommittees. Currently, there are over 500 individuals working on CDG sub teams.
Perry has led the development and worldwide commercialization of CDMA since the first proof of concept trials in 1988. He was instrumental in the introduction of CDMA as a second digital standard around the world and in it evolution to next generation digital technology.
Perry is the Founder, Chairman and President of inOvate Communications Group. inOvate creates and capitalizes promising companies in the Internet and telecommunications industries. He is also the founder of inCode Telecom Group, a wireless systems integration company.
He has over 23 years of experience working with high-technology companies. Perry recently retired from the international management-consulting firm of Pittiglio Rabin Todd and McGrath (PRTM) where he was a Vice President and Partner. While at PRTM, Perry oversaw the company's growth from twenty to over four hundred employees and led the firm's expansion into various domestic and international markets.
Perry has participated in many industry committees. He currently co-chairs the San Diego Telecom Council's CDMA Special Interest Group. He has been a speaker, provided keynote addresses, and moderated panels at conferences in over twenty countries and has worked with government officials throughout the world to develop telecommunications policies. He has also lectured in numerous educational forums. He is a frequent guest columnist for a number of publications and has appeared on broadcast interviews about the wireless industry, including CNN, CNBC, Chinese Television Network, Bloomberg Business News and Dow Jones. He is frequently quoted in a number of publications, including Forbes, Fortune, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, Wireless Week, RCR and BusinessWeek.
Perry has a Bachelor of Engineering degree (magna cum laude). He was awarded a Masters of Business Degree (MBA) from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. On a number of occasions, he has been listed as one of the top 50 telecommunications industry executives by Wireless Week magazine.
Jeff Hinck
Senior Managing Director, Vesbridge Partners
Jeff’s career in technology has been principally as a venture capitalist and a consultant to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to Vesbridge, Jeff was a General Partner with Crescendo Ventures where he had been since its inception in 1998, and was a venture capitalist with IAI Ventures before Crescendo.
In addition to his venture roles, Jeff was the CEO of Sistina Software, an infrastructure software company that developed a clustered file system for use in large datacenter storage environments and complex analytics. Jeff has also been an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co., where he worked with several Fortune 500 companies principally on Operations and Technology/IT projects, was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law & Economics at Harvard Law School, was the Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy and taught Statistics at Harvard College. In 2006, Jeff was the President of the Minnesota Venture Capital Association.
