Challenge for content developers
Studies have shown that mobile phone users generally avoid re-purchasing licensed content and subscriptions either because of the hassle involved, or simply because they don't think of doing it when they replace their phones.
Whatever the reason, according to one such recent study, only 13% of mobile phone users re-purchase their content after a phone replacement. Thus, in today's mobile market, content developers are actually hurt by phone upgrades. In a market where mobile phones are replaced on average once every 15 months, content developers need a solution to this problem.
